2010 Macbook Pro Manual

Hi
I have a 2008 MacBook Pro 15'. Typically, it crashes and freezes several times a day. This has happened since the computer was new. Since MacBooks no longer have a manual restart button, I reboot by removing and replacing the battery. Previously, I had a 2006 MacBook Pro, which was exactly the same (crashed or froze frequently). I am considering a new laptop, but see that they now have built-in batteries. What is the recovery procedure with these new models?
thanks
